Uemura Rina made herself famous with her incredibly sub-par trumpet skills as soon as the first episode of Keyakitte, Kakenai she was introduced in. Producing nothing but air sound, she quickly got nicknamed by the fans "Bua bua-san" (the trumpet sound onomatopoeia), albeit she actually is able to play piano properly. She's overall an airhead girl who would mistake kanjis or easily forget things and bug the other members about it. According to her, she's also pretty bad at sports and is afraid of animals.
The other members sometimes call her "Babaa" (ババア), which translates to "grandma" because the way she talks is reminiscent of an old person's. She's close to Ozeki Rika, whom she reciprocally designed as the member she would like to go to an on-site video shooting with.
Her audition song was Hitori Yogari (Nishino Nanase, Nogizaka46) and her favorite Nogizaka46 member is Saito Asuka.
